The Right Thing

The idea of people generally just trying to do “the right thing” is… a misconception.

Some people are, definitely, but I for one don’t care about right or wrong in any conventional sense.

Life isn’t about intellectualizing our actions. It’s about desire and what fulfills that desire.

  1. Doing the right thing is often a concept based on perception anyway. Should we still try? Probably. But to agonize over it and criticize? Probably not.

Thank you for visiting my blog, by the way. I am enjoying yours!

    • Not as much as I used to, but that’s mainly because I try not to. It’s not so much about being truly considerate either, when I do think about how I’m affecting others; more along the lines of “can I get away with it?” or “how will their reactions affect me?” To a certain extent I really just can’t help myself from thinking things through, but given the choice I’d rather not. It tends to get in the way, causes inaction a lot of the time imho.
